Frequently Asked Questions
-
To ensure the safety of all our guests and maintain our high standards under Buckinghamshire Council Licensing and DEFRA, all dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations before every boarding.
We will be asking for a copy of your dog's vaccination card prior to each and every stay as a safe guard.
1. Mandatory Core Vaccines
All dogs must be fully vaccinated against the following:
● Distemper
● Hepatitis (Adenovirus)
● Canine Parvovirus
● Leptospirosis (L2 or L4)
Documentation Required: A valid and up to date vaccination record card must always be presented prior to boarding. We will keep a copy of this on file for licensing compliance.
2. The updated Leptospirosis (Lepto) Policy
While we accept both L2 and the newer L4 vaccinations, please be aware of the following requirements regarding "restarts":
● Broad Protection:L4 is now the UK standard as it protects against more strains.
● The Restart Rule: If your dog is switching from L2 to L4, or if their annual booster is overdue, they must undergo a Primary/Restart Course (two injections, 4 weeks apart).
● Boarding Eligibility: We cannot accept dogs mid-course. Your dog is only eligible to board 7 days minimum after the second injection has been administered.
3. Kennel Cough (Bordetella)
While not mandatory, Kennel Cough is highly recommended. However, if you choose to vaccinate against kennel cough the vaccine must be administered at least 14 days prior to arrival.
Summary:
Timing: All boosters must be completed at least 7–14 days before entry.
L4 Restart: Requires a 4-week gap between doses + 7 days wait time.
Annual Boosters: Must be kept current; overdue vaccinations require a full restart.
Record Keeping: Digital or physical cards must be shown at or before any stay.
Please check your vaccination card today.
If your dog is due for a Lepto restart, the process takes 5 weeks in total to be fully compliant.
Thank you for helping us keep our home a safe and healthy environment for everyone!

Yes, a site visit is essential for both you to meet us and for us to assess suitability. It is necessary to book a trial night before the full boarding period. We find that for peace of mind most people like to do this and we welcome it.
You have to remember that your dog does not know you will be coming back when you leave them with us. So they can become anxious and they all react differently to this. Therefore it is good to give them time to understand this concept.

We normally walk the dogs according to their needs. This is dependant on weather for the dogs comfort but we do walk most days rain or shine. We also tailor walks around the needs of the individual dog(s) as some may not cope on long walks. Also our secure paddock allows for off-lead socialising and play for tons of doggy enrichment.
